Adamite rolls are high-performance alloy steel rolling mill rolls characterized by a pearlite-and-cementite microstructure, a carbon content of 1.2% to 2.3%, and high resistance to wear and thermal cracking. They provide a uniform hardness level from the outer surface to the inner core.
Composition: High carbon hypereutectoid alloy steel containing chromium (Cr), nickel (Ni), molybdenum (Mo), and vanadium (V).
Structure: Dispersed coarse free carbides (6%–10% fraction) embedded within a fine pearlitic matrix.
Hardness: Typically ranges from 40 to 55 Shore C, showing minimal hardness drop from surface to depth.
