S G Iron Rolls

SG Iron Rolls (Spheroidal Graphite Iron or Ductile Iron Rolls) are high-performance rolling mill components characterized by nodular graphite structures, superior mechanical strength, and excellent wear resistance.

Structural Characteristics

Nodular Graphite: Free carbon forms into spheroids or nodules via magnesium treatment, removing the weak flake-graphite "notch effect" found in normal cast iron.

Alloy Composition:Enhanced with carbon, nickel, molybdenum, and chromium to adjust carbide levels and toughness.

Matrix Variations: Microstructures range from ferrito-pearlitic and pearlitic to acicular bainitic depending on the required hardness.
